Why You Need a Closet Organizer

A closet organizer is a perfect way to save time because let’s be honest; not everyone likes to clean their closet or keep things organized, especially if they’re busy.  Some people will even agree that they would rather keep their closet messy than bother to clean it.  However, the time will come when you’re in a rush and only have a few minutes to get out of the house but you can’t, just because you can’t find that pair of jeans, or that shirt you were planning on wearing, no matter where you look.

Organizing your Closet Doesn’t Have to Take a Long Time

To avoid these stressful moments, all it takes is a little bit of time to keep your closet organized especially when you have a closet organizer to help you separate and organize your clothes together.   If you don’t have a system like this, don’t worry – you can create a simple system yourselves.  It’s easy to determine where and how you to categorize your clothes. For example, jackets could always go on the right side of the closet.  Shirts can hang in the middle of your closet.  Pants can be hung on the far left.

Some people may be lucky and have a closet that has two racks, one on top, and one on the bottom.  This should be easier for you to organize, since you can hang your jackets and shirts on the top rack, and overlap your pants hanging on the bottom rack.  If there are drawers within your closet, this would be a perfect place to put your socks and undergarments – in different drawers, of course.  It’s always best to maximize the space you have in your closet by putting similar things in the same category, or same location.

Using a Closet Organizer to Store your Shoes

Shoes take up a lot of space and my crowd your closet unnecessarily.  Sometimes people have closets that have shoe storage already built in.  However, most people will find that this space is just not enough for their collection of shoes.  If this is the case, many department stores, (even IKEA) sell simple closet organizer racks or cloth shoe racks that hang either inside your closet or behind the closet door.  Usually these racks will have several slots to put your shoes in.

If you still have too many shoes that fit, it’s better to categorize your shoes by the seasons.  If it’s summer, store all your winter boots into a box and leave them in the garage.  When winter comes around, start storing your summer shoes in the box.  This way, you save a lot of wasted storage space on clothes or shoes you won’t even be wearing for the next several months.  The best thing about this is that you only need to do it twice a year.
